Patients wear each aligner for about four to six weeks. When that period is up, the patient will replace the old aligner with the next one in the series.
The aligners gently place pressure on specific teeth to gradually move the teeth for a more comfortable experience.
How do ClearCorrect™ aligners stack up to traditional metal braces? Here’s what you need to know:
Speed.
ClearCorrect™ treatment is faster than traditional braces. Patients wear each set of ClearCorrect™ aligners for two weeks, and average treatment usually takes about 20-24 sets of aligners. This means most ClearCorrect™ treatments are finished within a year to 18 months. In contrast, braces take at least 18 months to provide results and may need to be worn for up to three years.
Efficacy.
ClearCorrect™ is an excellent option for patients who have minor or moderate orthodontic problems. It is not, however, an effective treatment for severe bite problems, misaligned teeth, or large gaps in the teeth. Traditional braces are a more effective treatment for severe orthodontic problems.
Comfort.
Because ClearCorrect™ aligners are made from flexible, clear plastic, they’re much more comfortable to wear than traditional metal braces. They’re also easier to clean and sanitize than metal braces, which trap food and bacteria.
